SO YOU WANT A DOG, HUH?!
Owning a dog should be a special and rewarding experience. If you've never owned a dog before, you'll want to prepare yourself by doing plenty of research and understand the commitments involved. Be READY for your new family member! Sometimes the rule in your house might have to be: "If mom (or dad) doesn't want a dog, don't get a dog!" But, if everyone else wants a dog, we can help you learn what to expect and how to prepare. You can find many resources on the internet about which breed to choose. For purebreds, we suggest is AKC's searchable breed list. For all other breeds, check out this option.
TRAINING YOUR DOG
In order to make owning a dog a wonderful experience, you'll want to start preparing for training BEFORE your canine family member enters your home for the first time. Dogs need to be trained with clear expectations. The best way to make sure this happens is to prepare those who will be working with the dog, so that the dog has consistent interactions with humans. A little preparation will go a long way - even if it is just making a list of the commands you will use with your dog, what are the family rules about which rooms he's allowed in, or is he allowed on the couch? Post it on the fridge so everyone is on the same page. Not all breeds learn in the same way, so it's a good idea to make sure your resources are breed specific. Check out our Training Blog for more information on what methods we prefer as well as our HOME to HOME training option.
For those in Utah that want a good trainer that holds group classes, we recommend Jan Perkins with Utah Live Oak Obedience.
WAITING LIST & DEPOSITS
Deposits are $500 and are generally non-refundable. When pups are born, if you aren't able to get the color/gender that you are seeking, your deposit can be transferred towards a puppy in the next litter (unless otherwise approved). Buyers will choose puppies based on the order of deposits received. If you have specific requests such as: 'male, black & white' and that is marked next to your name, that is what your deposit will hold. If you are unsure of which color and gender, you will be put on the main list. Before deposits are made, please be sure to contact us to make sure we get your name on the correct list.

HEALTHY PUP PROMISE
We strive to provide the healthiest pup from our home to yours. We will make sure they have the appropriate shots by the time they come to your new home. We understand that having confidence in a pup's health is important. New puppy owners have three business days to have their own checkup by a veterinarian to make sure they feel confident in their pup's health after bringing him/her home. If the vet discovers a health issue in your pup, send us a copy of the medical records and veterinarian signature within three business days. If the condition occurred prior to your purchase of the puppy, we are happy to make a full refund when the puppy is returned. We cannot, of course, take responsibility for neglect of any kind on the part of the buyer. We offer a 2-year genetic guarantee on most of our pups for genetic issues that we test for. If a pup is found to have a genetic health problem within the first two years after birth, the puppy can be returned and a new puppy from a future litter will be given. There will be no refunds after the initial vet check (within 3 business days).
PUPPY FLIGHTS
We have found a lot of success with flying a puppy at our feet in the cabin of a plane. Your pup can ride comfortably in a new mesh carrier and be with someone THE ENTIRE FLIGHT, not in cargo. This has proven to be the LEAST stressful option for getting pup to you if you live thousands of miles away. If you need your puppy flown to you, there are several airlines that have pet-transportation options available and we will help find the best option. The cost for this varies based on where you live, and usually ranges between $300-$700.
GROUND DELIVERY
Not interested in sending your puppy on an airplane? We can offer delivery during most seasons. The delivery fee will be calculated based on your distance from us. In most states neighboring Utah this would be comparable to or less than shipping by air. This option has the added advantage of your pet traveling in a less-stressful environment with someone they know well. The cost for this varies and is usually around $.40-$.50/mile.
WHELPING & RAISING OUR PUPS
We are fascinated with all kinds of dogs, but have put our focus into raising poodles and we recently added doodles into our program. We believe in whelping indoors where we can control sanitation a little easier and be right there with them for all the critical phases before they go home. We remove dew claws, leave their tails natural (unless we have specific requests for a long dock that meets AKC's standards. (Poodles only) We take them to our favorite Veterinarian in Alpine, Utah where our vet examines your puppy prior to coming home. We administer the necessary puppy shots, deworm them and allow their mother to provide the most important foundational nutrients for the first 6 weeks of their life. We begin introducing them to high quality kibble created by humans around 4 weeks of age. We follow a master checklist that helps us to stay on top of every detail that goes into raising a healthy, happy, well socialized canine companion. Puppies do not go to their new homes before they are 8 weeks old.
PUPPY SOCIALIZATION & TRAINING
Socialization and puppy training begins on DAY 3 after birth. We use an Early Neurological Stimulation program (ENS) combined with our training background and experience that helps to provide an excellent foundation that will help your puppy to be more confident by the time he/she is ready to go home. By breeding at home, we feel that we can create a more healthy environment where our pups are socialized in a happy house and yard environment where they begin learning how to be positive contributions to society. We believe in HOME to HOME training which means our pups are raised and trained in a home and will adapt to their new home a little easier, rather than being trained in a facility that does not resemble all the common household stimulations that are important for a smooth adjustment. A well-trained dog is a happy dog and knows what is expected.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Each puppy comes with:
Our puppies range between $1800-$3500. Full registration (breeding rights) varies between $3000-$4500 (including the pet price). Most of our puppies come with a two year genetic guarantee against any defects that we test for. We donate one puppy (or a training package for a puppy) per year to a service/therapy client in need. Please ask for more details on the next donation available.
A DOGGY CONTRACT?
We ask that our buyers sign a contract covering the life of the puppy after the transaction. Our pups are bred with the intent that they'll be a positive addition to the canine and people world. Owners will agree to provide: basic training, a healthy environment, love for your canine, prevention of unauthorized breeding and any associated necessities when owning a dog. These things will make your dog's life more fulfilling and make you happier and more fulfilled as an owner. Our pups will NEVER end up in a shelter and our puppy owners are required to contact us first if a change in ownership needs to be made.
